- The thinking process is an intriguing collection of logic-based tools that promise to help people diagnose problem, find solution, and draw up successful implementation plans. it is quite general and can be applied to many kinds of problems from the shop floor to the executive suite.
- In practice, very few of the people who had been trained in the thinking process actually were using it (2). companies that used the thinking process extensively and routtinely, say the elements have been very valuable exercise--something you avoid doing, but once you have done it you are glad you did. it forces discipline in decisions and can yield important new insights. the thinking process provides a comprehensive set of articulated tools for diagnosing problems and designing actionable solutions.
