Hello everybody,

The VTIC2004 is approaching. I have not seen a call for
paper yet. Do we have a schedule or any detail for
this conference yet. When will the abstract/papers due? Who
will decide on what papers will be accepted?
where exactly will it be held? Do we have a financial plan,
as in sponsors, conference fees, etc.

I hope anh Tien, Hung and Nhan know all these details but I
have not seen them discussed on VACETS-head
or VACETS-Admin. I am sorry if they have been discussed but
I have missed them.

Hello Cac Anh Chi,

I know you are all busy prepapring for the Lunar New Year
celebration next week, but I would like to restate a few
things I consider our highlights in the coming year:

1. The highest priority, I believe, is the VTIC2004 on May
24, 2004. As we are joining the CESASC in this technical
conference, we should strive our best to represent VACETS.
Drs. Nhan Do, Hung Nguyen and Tien Nguyen will keep us
informed of the progress. We are encouraging submission of
as many papers and tutorials as possible.

2. The Web page redesign effort was started in December
2003. Anh Tin has ordered the new server and hopefully we'll
hear from him soon on the status.

3. In the effort to revitalize local chapter activites, I
will try to visit some schools with an active VSA. I'll
combine my business travel with such visits if possible but
if you think I need to visit your school, please let me
know. I'll find a way to visit and talk to your students
about VACETS. In this matter, help from advisors who are
collge professors will be invaluable.
