Hello VACETS,
 
Congratulations to Chi Anh Duong, President-elect and welcome back other members of the Executive Committee, Cac Anh Tri Tran, Nhan Do, Ban Tran, Tuan Tran, and past president, anh Hung Nguyen.
 
I will present an agenda for this term soon but I just would like to take this opportunity to ask for your continuing support to revitalize VACETS. We'll have a lot of work to do.
 
As a matter of urgency, Anh Hung Nguyen just posted a note about the joint technical conference with Chinese Americans professionals in May 2004. We need to give an answer to our counterpart by the end of this week, October 18.
 
I personally welcome this opportunity. First, it allows us to get back to the conference activity we postponed last May; second, it presents us an opportunity to make ourselves known to other communities in a formal way.
 
Since this joint conference will be in LA, I'd like to recommend that we ask Dr. Tien Nguyen of the Aerospace Corp. to represent VACETS at organizational meetings and as a person of contact. Dr. Tien has been active in VACETS for a long time and is currently an advisor.
 
Please give it some thought on this matter.
