[Vnbiz] Fw: Asia Stocks Rally. REE profits skyrocket. VNI drops back below 600. Wait, what?!

Dear chi Vinh,

I think the profit figure for REE should be understood that "in comparison with the first 2 months of last year" ??? Am I right?

Sessions 1,2,3 are for the three matching sessions in one working day of securities market. Session 1 and 3 are the periodical matching ones which create opening and closing prices respectively. Session 2 is the continuous matching session.

VNI numbers used are from HoSE table at vietstock.com. BIDV Securities
 Co, http://www.bsc.com.vn/BSCEnglish/, reports different numbers many
 times. Not today. While I have watched (short time) Vietstock's
 numbers have matched numbers reported by newspapers. BIDV numbers have
 not always matched. (Strange? Is there a better online source for VNI
 numbers?)
 
 But isn't this picture a little strange?:
 
 1. Yesterday (GMT): "Asian markets have steadied after a day of global
 market turmoil sparked by the emergency sale of Bear Stearns, one of
 the world's biggest investment banks." - Asian markets rally after
 turmoil, BBC World, Tuesday, 18 March 2008, 04:09 GMT,
 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7302018.stm
 
 2. Yesterday (local time): REE's two-month earning ups 218 percent (in
 2 months?!?), Monday, 17/03/2008, 13:40,
 http://www.vietstock.com.vn/Tianyonen/Index.aspx?ArticleID=54292&ChannelID=36
 (REE "posted earnings of 117.03 billion VND (7.3 million USD) in the
 first two months of this year...", report said.)
 
 3. Today (local time): The VNI dropped over 4% in one (half?) day
 today to 588.26. Only 1 company rose, Dothanh Plastic (DTT), up
 500pts. Three cos had no change, Bibico (BBC), Prudential (BFF),
 Thuduc House (TDH). REE was down 3,500pts.
 
 
 Anyone know what "Sessions 1, 2 and 3" mean in table at
 http://www.vietstock.com.vn/Vietstocken/StockIndicator.aspx ?
