JOB OPPORTUNITY
Project Officer
(Hanoi)
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the
World Bank Group, promotes sustainable private sector investment and
provides advisory services in developing countries, to help reduce poverty
and improve people?s lives. In the Mekong region, IFC manages the Mekong
Private Sector Development Facility (MPDF) as a technical assistance
program covering Vietnam, Lao PDR and Cambodia. IFC MPDF's donors are the
Asian Development Bank, Australia, Canada, European Union, Finland, IFC,
Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland
and the United Kingdom.
The MPDF aims to stimulate equitable economic growth by building strong
and diversified financial markets with a range of financial institutions
(banks, microfinance institutions), specialized finance companies, and the
regulatory infrastructure necessary for optimal performance of the sector.
The Access to Finance (ATF) Program of IFC MPDF in Vietnam is currently
providing:
Assistance to individual banks, to increase access to finance
Assistance to the Bank Training Centre, an independent provider of
training and consulting to banks
Assistance to the State Bank of Vietnam to set up a private credit bureau
Assistance to the Ministry of Justice and the State Bank of Vietnam to set
up a registry for immovable assets
The ATF Initiatives for the future will include support in developing the
financial systems infrastructure required to allow the financial sector to
grow profitably with particular focus on developing the capital market. In
addition to working directly with financial institutions, the
interventions are expected to include improving the regulatory framework.
The IFC MPDF ATF Program is looking to recruit a Project Officer.
Candidates should possess the following:
Master degree is required, preferably in business administration or
finance.
At least 5 years experience in any (preferably several) of the following
fields: security firm, fund or treasury with investment or commercial
bank, asset booking with financial institution.
Ability to review and evaluate investment projects and business operations
on technical, commercial, managerial, and financial grounds.
Relevant experience working in private sector development in the Mekong
region.
Proven project management skills.
Excellent analytical skills, as demonstrated through a track record of
qualitative and quantitative research.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated capacity to network and work
with a wide range of stakeholders within and outside IFC MPDF/the World
Bank group - including businesses, international organizations, business
support institutions (including business associations and training
entities), and government.
Fluency in both Vietnamese and English is required.
The assignment is initially for a term of two (02) years with a one (01)
year probationary period, and is renewable depending on performance.
