     New York (March 10th, 2007).

      Vietnam Summer Teaching Assistantship (ViSTA)

IVCE would like to announce the official establishment of our summer
educational program: Vietnam Summer Teaching Assistantship (ViSTA). Since
2000, IVCE has delivered a "Study Abroad in America" conference every summer
to help students in Vietnam pursue higher education abroad. The goal of this
conference is to provide information about the admission and testing
processes in addition to scholarships offered for study in the United
States. We also aimed to provide students with tools to improve their
chances of gaining admission and securing financial aid.

Through our outreach and educational programs over the past years,
IVCE has received hundreds of questions from Vietnamese students regarding
U.S. admission and scholarship programs annually. The overwhelming interest
of Vietnamese students in this topic reinforced our commitment to providing
a forum for students to learn about it first hand. Our experience with the
students demonstrates to us that there is a high number of students
qualified to study in the U.S. who are unable to do so for lack of
procedural knowledge.

According to the Institute of International Education, 14,112
Vietnamese students attended U.S. colleges and high schools from 2000-2005,
including 9,855 undergraduates, 3,612 graduates, and 645 high school
students. IVCE has a long-term goal of increasing the total number of
Vietnamese students to between 30 and 50 thousand in ten years (2005-2015).
To achieve this goal, IVCE has conducted 14 study-abroad seminars since 2002
at Hochiminh City, Can Tho, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Hue, Hanoi and Thai Nguyen,
and has offered advices online. We believe students who have the opportunity
to study abroad will bring back with them ideas and concepts from American
universities that can contribute to the development of Vietnam.

The ViSTA program is the companion to our “Study Abroad in America”
summer conference. Through ViSTA, IVCE actively recruits and develops a
group of Vietnamese-American college and graduate students to teach TOEFL &
SAT (or GRE & GMAT) workshops to students this summer in Vietnam. In
previous years, this group has hailed from schools such as Harvard, Yale,
Columbia and UPenn. IVCE now offers this program to college undergraduate
and graduate students from all schools in the United States, as long as you
meet our basic requirements for participation.

. Type of work: Teaching your choice of TOEFL, SAT, GRE or GMAT
classes in Vietnam
. Eligibility: 2nd, 3rd, 4th year undergraduates and all graduate
students
. Length of project: 8 weeks (4-week stay in two cities)
. Location: Can Tho, Hochiminh City, Da Nang, Hue, Hanoi, Thai Nguyen
. Housing: College provides the guest housing.
      . Stipend: $300
      . Deadline for registration: April 15th, 2007.

Please be advised that as a participant in ViSTA, you are expected to
fundraise money for your own roundtrip travel and other related expenses for
the 8-week stay in Vietnam. Past participants have been able to get past
this hurdle by applying to grants or fellowships offered by their respective
universities. IVCEÂ’s role in this program is one of guidance, coordination
and training. We will organize all the logistics for your travel and stay as
a group in Vietnam. In addition, we will also provide training for
conducting seminars on the TOEFL, SAT and/or GRE. IVCE will essentially be
your sponsor for this whole experience.

Outside of your teaching responsibility, you will have the time and
independence to explore Vietnam as it interests you. Although we encourage
travel as a group, we understand that you might have personal research
projects or independent studies to engage with. IVCE will gladly serve as a
point of contact and support for all your endeavors in Vietnam.

IVCE calls for the participation of any student who wants to
experience Vietnam first-hand and to contribute toward its educational
development. Please respect the April 15th deadline, as we might be unable
to arrange accommodations for you after that date. Feel free to contact us
with any questions or concerns at nhipsong at ivce.org. You can also check us
out at www.ivce.org. We look forward to your communications, as we hope to
collaborate with you through ViSTA this coming summer.

      Sincerely,

      Thang Tran
President of The Institute for Vietnamese Culture & Education (IVCE).
