Monitoring & Evaluation Officer 
(Hanoi-based) 


The International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, 
promotes sustainable private sector investment in developing countries, 
helping to reduce poverty and improve people?s lives. In addition to its 
direct investment work in East Asia, IFC manages a large program of 
donor-funded advisory facilities in the region.  The Mekong Private Sector 
Development Facility is the advisory services arm of IFC in the Mekong and 
operates in Lao PDR, Vietnam and Cambodia.  IFC-MPDF works through six 
interrelated programs that seek to improve the business environment; 
develop the financial sector; improve managerial capacity; and increase 
sustainable business practices in three sectors that are central to 
economic growth and poverty reduction ? tourism, agribusiness, and 
garments. IFC-MPDF's donors are the Asian Development Bank, Australia, 
Canada, Finland, IFC, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, 
Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. 

Over the last 3 years, IFC has significantly enhanced the monitoring and 
evaluation system (M&E) for its operations in technical assistance and 
advisory services.  To implement the newly approved M&E approach 
effectively, IFC-MPDF is looking to recruit one professional to join its 
M&E Team on a full-time basis.  S/he will be based in the  Hanoi Office 
but will be expected to travel frequently in Vietnam, Cambodia and Lao 
PDR.     

Candidates should meet the following criteria: 
Advanced university degree, preferably in economics, development 
economics, business administration or related field. 
Experience in research and M&E 
Minimum of 2 years experience with an international consulting/accounting 
firm or equivalent 
Knowledge and skills in statistical analysis and research 
Good knowledge and skills in computer, especially SPSS, and MS. Excel. 
Ability to work under pressure and handle concurrent activities 
simultaneously. 
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a good sense of team 
work. 
Fluency in English (written and oral) along with good communication and 
presentation skills. 
Vietnamese nationality

The assignment is initially for a term of two (02) years with a one (01) 
year probationary period, and is renewable depending on performance.
