  I am sure there are many changes in HN, you might find anything you need there.
  The only big difference b/t HN and HCMC that  I can see is you need warm clothes for winter :))
  I am not sure how much you can put up with Hanoi's winter, chilling wind...but light jackets and sweaters don't hurt. You can find a great coat or down jacket.
  And personal product you particularly like (or sensitive) from the U.S, bring with you since you might not be able to find exactly the same thing.
   
  Anyway, have a great trip and good luck with your new life in Hanoi.  And don't bank too much on the advice from a person who has been away from HN for years :))

Hi All:

Realizing that I have not lived in Hanoi, and only in HCMC, I ask your advice.  I am packing for the trip/move and want to make sure that I don't forget anything that I might need.  Now I know, from previous experience what may be useful, but not having lived in Hanoi I wanted to see if any had suggestions, from experience, of things to bring that I may be overlooking. 

Also, are there any fabric/cloth shops in Hanoi that anyone can recommend? 100% cotton for dress shirts, good cloth for suits
