oh! How happy I am to hear this idea.
I agree that American don't know Vietnam well. And I just want to add a
little more from another side, that the Vietnamese also don't know the
American well. In my school, teacher still strongly think that American is
an ugly and warlike people. And we shouldn't play with them. For being under
that thinking system, I almost completely rely on what teachers tell me
until my last trip to Scotland. Oh! I just don't know how ashamed I feel
when I know that people on the world don't spend time on criticizing the
others but they only want to make a fair corporation from which every
cooperators gain the most. And I've just not known that many American are
devoting their life to Vietnam's development.
So I strongly wish we have chance to communicate, to understand more about
each others. Believe me, many Vietnamese today misunderstand American
seriously.
Sis Huong's ideas are so interesting. I like most of them. Hope we can do
some.
I just want to share a little more. I have many friends (the Vietnamese)
study in US. And I know that there are a great number of Vietnamese students
studying in US. Many of them are the very patriot. Living over sea, many of
them really miss something related to "Vietnam" (like film, music,
food,...). And many of them visit home every summer time. My idea is
something like a 'house' for Vietnamese students in US meeting, talking,
showing up Vietnamese culture (exhibition for examples?). The 'house' opened
to everyone (welcome US students). They can make friend. And some US friends
who interest in VN may love to visit Vietnam. So why don't US friends make a
trip to VN in the summer time? They have the best guider to Vietnam, their
Vietnamese friends, right? ;)
Just my think and hope,
Best,
HeO
