A new fact sheet, the first of a series, was published recently by
IFHHRO (International Federation of Health and Human Rights
Organisations) and the Human Rights Centre of the University of Essex.
Paul Hunt, the Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health, is a
Professor at the Human Rights Centre. The fact sheet, entitled "Our
right to the highest attainable standard of health", aims to provide a
very short, concise and accessible introduction to the right to the
highest attainable standard of health, which is especially suitable for
people without much prior knowledge of the issue. In 8 pages, it is
described what is the right to health, who is responsible for ensuring
this right, how those responsible can be held accountable, and why it
is important to integrate the right to health into policy making.
