[Vnbiz] Leadership -- A little more on Honesty

Dear CACC,

Guys, we have had enough on this thread. And we now may have started to go
off the original subject so far.

Everyone has made his/her point clear. Here is a professional hint for
debaters: Trial lawyers are taught in court room litigation: "Say what you
want to say, then shut up, and sit down."

Most people have the urge to say the last word. That could be a very bad
habit because when you keep trying to have to last word, you end up hurting
yourself. When you have made your point very clear and convincing, you
should know that. If you try to say something else, you usually make your
point less clear and less convincing, because if the water is already very
clear, anything added may only make it more muddy. My experience in
debating is that the person who tries to make the last word usually loses
the debate, because he starts to go off into so many lousy points that he
ends up making no point at all. So, learn what professional debaters
learn: "Say what you want to say, then shut up, and sit down."

Anyway, a national and international leader's impact on his nation and the
world is much clearer when historians write about him 50 years after his
death. Any assessment before that is usually not complete. (That is why I
usually like to talk about very ancient leaders about whom most people agree
on :-)

Just keep in mind that who you admire does reflect somewhat yourself.

Lively debate though. I love it!! Thanks, everyone.

Have a great day!

Hoanh
