Dear Sis Thu Huong,
Glad that you're wamred up to the ideas. And you already have a group of
three going. Great! We can plan further.
But first, CACC = ca'c anh ca'c chi.
CACE = Ca'c anh chi. em
About English club, keep in mind that your current group of three is the
core group, or founding group, or leading group, or whatever name you care
to use :-) The point is: Any project needs an administrative group (like
the government) to keep the project running. The first three is this
governing group. (The governing structure may change in the future when
there are more members and more people are willing to volunteer to do the
"dirty works." For now, all the founding group just has to do all the dirty
works :-)
So you three just have to sit and plan:
1. Regularity: All best plans have this regularity element. Meaning, you
should have activities fixed intervals, either every week, or every two
weeks, or every month, etc... Whatever interval you choose is OK. But once
you have chosen an interval, keep it constant.
2. Define a long-term vision: Ex: To promote the study and use of English
among college students. (Vision should be idealistic)
And the goal for next year: Having a club of at least 200 members with
regular activities. (Short-term goal should be concrete).
You can get much more elaborate on this "goal" thing. But I suggest, you do
it easy and simple (as in my example. Otherwise you may get stuck with all
kinds of theoretical stuffs).
3. Make up an agenda for, say, the next three months, with activities for
each week (If you chose weekly intervals). This agenda may be changed as
often as you wish. "Plans are made to be changed." But you should always
have a plan. And the plan should be at least a couple of months ahead of
time).
4. Send out invitations (over the Internet) for friends to join the
activities. Invite experienced people to be join the activities too. (Say,
Hong Nhung is supper good in English, she can be a core person in many
activities. Anh Shane can be a real magnet in English activities.
Actually, almost every VNBIZer is supergood in English, anyone can be a
major player in an English event. Invite them in to help you).
Then start partying!! @ :-)
Easy like that. After a while, you will have more experience to worry about
other admin things, like how to make someone a member (like in VNBIZ, you
have to send in you personal data and ask to join).
Then after a while you may be experienced enough to think about other kind
of club, like debating club.
Just go!
Have a great day, Thu Huong and all.
