[Vnbiz] A programme for HIV-postive kids & some things to share

 Dear CACC,

After a year "washing my hands, putting aside my sword" (rua tay gac kiem
:)), I now find a great inspiration from this volunteer group and the target
group that they are helping. Not sure how much time I can be committed, but
since my bachelor's graduation thesis is slightly related, I hope to 'join
hands' with this Chung tay group and to contribute something...

I guess the familiar words 'volunteer', 'contribute', 'something' here may
sound a bit idealistic and... naive to most of you. And I guess it's all
because of being young. 'Being young' - I see it as a priceless gift. As
growing older, with each year gained, I realise that I become less careless,
more mature and more experienced. That's also a gift. But I feel something
is missing. I feel the layer of myself's cover gets thicker and thicker and
I become reserved (=old?). The passion still remains beneath but somehow
with less daring, less enthusiasm. It's important to pull the passion out of
reins. Now, I'm happy that with this project, I'm free from diffidences.

I wish I could spend more time writing down some amazing stories about the
kids and this new volunteer group that I've recently learnt to know. But
it's only a few more days that the meaningful year-end party for the
HIV-positive orphans of the Rehabilitation Center 02 actually happens. I
hope this appeal still comes out in time, if there are people interested.

The potential that I could see from the programme is like a spark of hope to
start some bigger campaigns for the HIV-positive children and the PLHA in
Viet Nam...

Dear all,


Do you ever think that in such a place just 60km away from Ha Noi, there are
10 – 12 aged children who could only start their schooling until this year?
The reason is poignantly simple: No school accepted them!


These are HIV-positive orphans who are taken care of by the Rehabilitation
Center 02 of Ha Noi (Ba Vi, Ha Tay). Please join hands with us to bring them
some warm air of love in this cold Tet's season. Any compassion and support
from you will substantially contribute to the fight against the HIV and AIDS
– related stigma and discrimination against PLHA (People living with HIV and
AIDS) in general, and these vulnerable children in particular.

Thirty three children of the Rehabilitation Center 02 are eagerly looking
forward to this coming lunar year-end party, which is called "Chung noi banh
chung" (Share a cauldron of 'banh chung' with these orphans). It will be the
very first BIG Tet they have ever had in their life.


The party is to be held on the night of 24th Twelfth lunar month (Sunday, 11
February, 2007). It is co-organized by the center itself and our Chung tay
volunteer group; significantly supported by PRP Club, Lao Dong Newspaper, SJ
and other organizations/individuals.

Các bạn có nghĩ rằng ở một nơi chỉ cách Hà Nội 60km lại có những em bé đã
10-12 tuổi năm nay mới bắt đầu được đi học lớp 1 không? Lý do thật đơn giản
và cũng thật đau lòng: Không trường học nào dám nhận các em cả.


Các em là những đứa trẻ mồ côi "có  H" hiện đang được Trung tâm Giáo dục Lao
động Xã hội số 2 Hà Nội (Ba Vì, Hà Tây) chăm sóc. Hãy cùng chúng tôi chung
tay mang đến cho các em chút không khí ấm áp của tình yêu thương giữa những
ngày Tết giá rét, phần nào xóa đi sự phân biệt, kỳ thị đối với người nhiễm
HIV/AIDS nói chung và đối với những đứa trẻ này nói riêng.


Ba mươi ba em bé ở Trung tâm Giáo dục Lao động Xã hội 02 Hà Nội đang háo hức
chờ đón đêm hội "Chung nồi bánh chưng" – cũng là bữa tiệc tất niên thật
"xôm" đầu tiên trong đời chúng. Đêm hội sẽ diễn ra vào đêm 24 tháng Chạp
(tức Chủ nhật, 11/2/2007) sắp tới, do Trung tâm Giáo dục Lao động Xã hội 02
kết hợp với nhóm tình nguyện Chung tay tổ chức. Chương trình nhận được sự hỗ
trợ tích cực của CLB PRP, báo Lao Động, tổ chức SJ, cùng nhiều đơn vị và cá
nhân khác.
