Dear CACC,

One of my interesting is talking about business, and enterprise culture in
Viet Nam & the world is the most interesting topic that I would like to
discuss. I really like Google culture system (nen van hoa Google) that you
can read a lot articles mention it. Actually, I think it is not difficult to
creat a enterprise culture like that. However, why Vietnamese companies
cannot build a different & effective enterprise culture?

This question is easy to answer. I myself consider two things that
Vietnamese companies cannot build their unique culture: the lack of leaders'
enthusiasm, the lack of abilities.

1. At the first issue, we need to ask the common questions: why we do
business? why we do own boss?. The answer are plenty that it is for the
money, for the famous, and for self-management,...Any question can
come right in your opinions. However, if you want to find the answer
stressed on the success of enterprise culture building, it is just one
answer for it. This is you do your business for your community and your
society. Particularly, you do business because you want to make the rich of
your comunity that your business will creat the jobs for others (your
employees). So, the key is here: ask you questions how you can creat the
most benefit for your employees to help your business & their life better?
Do you take care of your employee opinions and wishes? Do you want every
employee being millionaires or billionaires?

I know that many entrepreneurs will say yes for above questions as what you
can find on media. However, my experiences tell that they did lies. They did
lies because you can look in the way many companies manage their employees.
I really ask what they are doing for their own future? How many Vietnamese
companies provide introduction course for their employees? How many they
provide clearly job-description & responsibility planning? Can employee
share their ideas directly to their boss? Can employee set a personal plan
for their career?... I know that the status is not worst, but it is seem
very bad (in my opinion). Where is the boss enthusiasm if they confirm that
they are taking care of their employees?

2. The knowledge?

When do anything, I always ask myself the question how other do it in
global. I also wonder why I only look in the big picture evenly it is only a
very small issue. However, I must thanks myself because although I face
problem to solve my issues off, I can learn many things from broad view. In
this topic, I take advance in analytics.

Compare between Western culture and Eastern's we can see that an American
like to self-promote his abilities, while a Eastern is not because of
modesty thought. So, this is the explaining why when American entrepreneurs
start-up, they aim to be global-business. For example, Bill Gate guessed
that in the future everyone would own a computer and Microsoft would be the
global-corporation. In history, Yahoo discovered into new field that they
believed their business servicing for the world...The common thought of
above founders is the quote that now I see many Vietnamese people like to
say: "think global, do local". The way of thought had produced the
difference of enterprise culture & the success. While Western firm culture
is open-culture (culture diversity) that everyone from every country can
co-work well, the Eastern's is 'nhap gia tuy tuc' (when in Rome, do as the
Roman do) in kind of 'quan tu tau' (Chinese gentlemant) that you need to
"biet dieu mot ty" (look others to behave). Difference of opinions had
created different gained knowledge & experience:
+ American entrepreneurs gain what lessions a global-lead needs
+ Vietnamese entrepreneurs just gain rich enought to proud with Vietnamese
people.T__T

*So, it is right to say that Vietnamese companies are like family businesses
(cong ty gia dinh). The global thought bear the giants, the local's produces
with what it is.*

Do you agree with this? If you are Vietnamese entrepreneurs, what would you
do to build your company culture? I am very happy if you send your view of
points here! Pls.
