Dear anh Binh

1. "When football issue is hoter and hoter, then people pay attention to
that, and pay less to other important things..."

Unfortunately, this is what I heard for a long time in Vietnam about
people's attention and how it was driven. That's why people also said that
there are two most difficult seats in the country, minister of education
and minister of sport (VFF is of course in a much lower level). The
proportion of critism on these two areas appears much higher than other
"important" sectors and maybe it reflects that people feel free to
criticise such areas...

By the way, please noted in a country that entertainment is under-developed
as Vietnam, when public activities and areas is limited in such golden land
as Hanoi and HCMC, it is understandable that football is truly some thing
people could pay attention to. They have not many things to choose for
relax, after swimming back home every night among the increasing floods of
cars and bikes. Please sympathise them (or us).

2. Regarding Mr Rield, what I critize his behaviour does not mean He must
know:
- when he need to replace a surgery for kidney replacement, a rural guy in
Central Region of VN volunteered to give him one of his kidney.
- he must know, although the tone of Vietnamese reporters is some time
ridiculous and unbearable to hear (but I assume most reporters' tone are
similar, because I have seen how Australian reporters ask Oz former Prime
Minister Howard in Hanoi last year - exactly the same), a professionalist
should have a well-prepared attitudes on any public questions.

To me, his answer "I don't care about the fan's feeling" is unacceptable.

Cheers

Dear a. Hoanh, a. Quang Anh et al,

For me it's simple.

> Immediately after Vietnam the lost to Myanmar at the SEA Games soccer
> match, coach Riedl of the Viet U23 team was pressured to resign and has
> just resigned today. I must say, that is a very grateful attitude from
> both the soccer fans and soccer authorities to a coach! I have not known
> that the Vietnamese can turn their back on someone so fast.
>
> Fine, if people want to be so demanding and ungrateful about it. But
this
> is soccer, guys. It is just a game. Why no one is even 1/10 serious
when
> it comes to more important things, like the government. When government
> officials do all kinds of unethical and questionable conduct, no one
seems
> to care about demanding an immediate resignation, or even some kind of
> sanction.
When football issue is hoter and hoter, then people pay attention to
that, and pay less to other important things. Some officials like it, I
guess.

Reality view:
- more newspapers to sell
- VFF saves something and has something to be proud of (saving 50,000$,
funny - enough for Mai Duc Chung for 2 years I guess)

Finally, behaviors of all related (fans, VFF, coach) are not
professional. Football is the game, isn't it?

So, just don't spend much attention to men football. Much better with
others!

Best, Binh.
