Dear bro Hoanh, bro Thien and CACC,
The debate seems to be hot. Must agree with brother Thien that there is
strong preference for good-looking employees. And some jobs really need hot
babes to work like car exhibition. I'd like to add some short points:
1. None has the right to discriminate people based on their appearance. A
candidate is fit to job if he has sufficient skills and experience, but not
just proportional body. Appearance shouldn't not interfere. We are all
familiar to the requirement "ngoai hinh kha" in job postings. Absurd!
2. Employers need skilful workers but not necessarily good-looking. Bosses
recruit people to do business and make money, not make love! Don't we think
that Minister of Foreign Affairs must be good-looking? If George W. Bush was
looking for a hot babe to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs, America
wouldn't progress much in foreign deals. In response to bro Thien's
shopkeeper appearance reasoning, I just want to note that customers prefer
knowledgeable and caring shopkeeper to good-looking one. They spend money to
buy goods that they will consume but not donate $ to the shop for exhibiting
their hot babes. And shop owners prefer a salesguy/salesgirl who is able to
close the deals (buôn bán có duyên).
I may have flaws in reasoning. Looking forward to your responses.
Best regards,
Viet.
