Dear chi Van & CACC,
Thanks for the message, chi Van. It is heart wrenching. I think our
society has so much prejudice that it is a serious detrimental to our
national development. We just have to learn to use talents for business.
The goal of a business is to make money and money is made by talented
people, (not by people with "ngoai hinh can doi," for God's sake!).
As a matter of fact, here is the truth: If someone with some disadvantage
(like a PWD, a woman, an ethnic minority) has the same credentials as a
healthy majority male's, that disadvantaged person is surely twice as good
as the normal male, because s/he has to conquer more obstacles to get to the
same destination. That logic so clear, why don't employers see that?
Obviously their prejudice blinds them.
(Say, in the US, if a Vietnamese immigrant has the same credentials as a
white male's, the Vietnamese will get the job, because employers know that
the Vietnamese has to work double hard to get there).
I believe that with the market economy, all talents will be appreciated. We
just need to continue working at it to make sure stupid prejudice will
disappear.
Have a great day!
Hoanh
