Anh Hoanh oi!
I agree with your idea. Any gathering for those of us who have not yet met you should be a "family affair". We are the VNBIZ Family, you are part of this family, so we should treat you the same as we treat each other - as Family! I'm with you, I don't "do" big celebrations either - just comfortable social gatherings.
Anh Hoanh, I was wondering just how long it has been since you have had good ol' Lẩu Dê at a street-side eatery (not a street stall, but a semi-outdoor restaurant right on the street) in Saigon??? I have a place in mind which serves up the best "Vú Dê Nướng" and Lẩu Dê in the city (IMVHO) and the rượi rắn is excellent as well! Can anyone guess where it is???
What do you think anh Hoanh?

Dear CACC,
Thanks for all the sweet and encouraging notes. I hope brother Tin could change the day to be with me in Saigon. I already have the plane ticket and the arrangements have been made with two other fellow travellers. So my plan is very much fixed.
Other brothers/sisters who plan to come back to Vietnam around November, if you can move your plan a little so that we all can meet, that would be so great.
For every one, I would be extremely happy if we all just act as these are regular VNBIZ gatherings. We do have a tradition of having a gathering in a couple of months. I mean, please do not think and act like I am the cause of the gathering. I really feel awkward in a social gathering in which I am the spot light or under the spot light. For my entire life, I have only one party in which I am the cause of the party. Other than that, no birth day, no graduation party, no job promotion party, no anniversary, no party of any kind, etc... (Going out for dinner with a couple of family members doesn't count as a social party). So you can understand two gatherings in a row on a trip is extra-exceptional for me. I try to think about those as a chance and an obligation for us to be together physically. Could we please do that? Please think about us and forget about me (at least temporarily).
I am really looking forward to meet with everyone.

Dear CACC,
Oh my! This would have been a nice gathering! It look like I might also
be traveling to Vietnam in early Nov, from around Nov 4 through 16. I'll
be back in US by the time anh Hoanh arrive in Vietnam.
It's a business trip for me, so no time for site seeing and fun. But I
would love to meet any brothers and sisters of VNBIZ. I don't have
complete traveling plan yet, still need to get my plane ticket... I will
post more when I have all the dates.
I will stay/travel mostly in Saigon and surrounding area. This will be
first trip back since '95. I hear many things has changed since then....
Cheers,
Tin Le
