  Depends on the context, I sometimes prefer ^-^ than :-) Maybe because it looks cuter. Though just in some seconds, it always makes me feel young and suddenly free-from-worries!

  Welcome in, Jerica.  Yes, you will have more chances to meet and learn from your brothers/sisters in this forum. But please keep in mind we can learn from you too.
   
  Some members of the forum may think that "I am too young and too inexperienced to say or contribute anything."  Well, that is just wrong thinking.  I can learn from any message written by anyone about anything.  I have developed the skill of learning anything, anywhere, anytime from anyone.  And I imagine that many of us have that skill.  Trust me, if a sister in Saigon sends one message to the forum like this "The sun is rising beautifully on ha`ng me today.  Have a nice day everyone ^-^."  The message would immediately lift up my spirit.  And I would learn that the tamarind trees are still there in some parts of Saigon,  that this sister and probably many brothers/sisters of her generation are positive in thinking, romantic, and comfortable expressing personal emotion in the public and that is a good sign of an outgoing, spirited and energetic generation.  And I would have to do a search on emoticons to check out what ^-^ means.  (Actually I did that yesterday when
 seeing ^-^ in Romi's message and couldn't understand what that was.  Thanks, Romi :-). 
   
  So , guys and gals, never never underestimate your power to enrich the lives of others around you.  We all have this natural capacity to enrich other people and our environment, most of the time even without our awareness.  All we need to do is to stay happy and positive and open our self up for the world once in a while.  It means, just smile and say something.  And that will change the world.  Trust me.
