[Vnbiz] Media running into problems with MCI

Dear a Hoanh and CACE,
   
  I do not think that there will be a court case against MCI, simply that I never heard before. Take the care of Cong Ly newspapers for example:
   
  - The Editor in chief and the Minister of MCI are all members of one party. They have there own protocol and procedure within the party. Certainly the Editor in chief is lower level.
  - The Editor in chief is a senior staff member of Supreme Court, he must know the possibility to win the case.
   
  - The problems and mismanagement can happen with many agencies in VN.  MCI suspended the Cong Ly because of running articles on polymer notes. But, do you trust that Cong Ly management team are free of any mistakes?
   
  - Anyway, the newspapers is suspended only one month, the editor in chief, if I were him, does not need to risk his political career.

  Another magazine has just got hit by the MCI.  Kinh Doanh & San Pham magazine's license has been revoked (permanently, it seems).  This VNExpress article only cites the vague reason that the magazine has not followed the purposes provided in its license.  Well, that is very much nothing.

  You mean a magazine is closed permanently and the citizens of the nation are allowed to know only that vague sentence "Not following the purpose"?  What did the magazine do that its license is revoked permanently?  
   
  We don't know if the magazine deserve to be punish like that or not.  But that is secondary.  The most importantly is that the people, the boss of the nation, has the right to know what its servants, the MCI, are doing. 
   
  The article also mentions that MCI is thinking about revoking professional licenses of Kinh Doanh & San Pham's journalists and other professionals.  I wonder who gives MCI the authority to take away the livelihood of any citizen.  Professional license is the way that someone makes a living.  Does MCI have the right to take away an person's living without proving that he has committed some wrong doing himself? 
   
  Should someone challenge MCI in court?
   
  Does anyone have any detail to share?

  Ngày 21/10, Thứ trưởng Bộ Văn hóa - Thông tin Đỗ Quý Doãn đã ký quyết định đình bản và thu hồi giấy phép hoạt động đối với tạp chí Kinh doanh và Sản phẩm do Liên minh Hợp tác xã Việt Nam làm chủ quản. Lý do là tạp chí đã không thực hiện đúng tôn chỉ, mục đích ghi trong giấy phép hoạt động. 
  Quyết định nêu rõ, dù đã được cơ quan quản lý nhà nước về báo chí nhắc nhở, chấn chỉnh, nhưng tạp chí Kinh doanh và Sản phẩm vẫn tiếp tục vi phạm tôn chỉ, mục đích ghi trong giấy phép hoạt động, gây ảnh hưởng xấu đến xã hội. 
  Cùng với việc đình bản và thu hồi giấy phép, Bộ Văn hóa - Thông tin đang xem xét thu hồi toàn bộ số thẻ nhà báo đã cấp cho cán bộ, phóng viên, biên tập viên tạp chí này. 
  Như vậy, trong vòng 2 ngày, Bộ Văn hóa - Thông tin đã đình bản 3 ấn phẩm. Trước đó, tờ Thời Đại, thuộc Liên hiệp các tổ chức hữu nghị Việt Nam và Công Lý thuộc TAND Tối cao, đã bị đình bản trong thời hạn một tháng. 2 báo này bị đình bản bởi đã cho đăng bài viết về đồng tiền polymer có nội dung vi phạm luật báo chí.

  Ngày 20/10, Bộ Văn hóa Thông tin đã ra các quyết định đình chỉ xuất bản báo Thời Đại, thuộc Liên hiệp các tổ chức hữu nghị Việt Nam và báo Công Lý thuộc TAND Tối cao trong thời hạn một tháng.
  Lý do đình bản vì hai cơ quan báo chí này đã cho đăng bài viết về đồng tiền polymer có nội dung vi phạm nghiêm trọng các quy định tại điều 6, điều 10 Luật Báo chí; Luật sửa đổi, bổ sung một số điều của Luật Báo chí; không chấp hành sự chỉ đạo của Chính phủ. 
  Ngoài ra, Bộ Văn hóa-Thông tin đang tiếp tục xem xét để có các hình thức xử lý nghiêm khắc đối với các cơ quan báo chí và các cá nhân có liên quan trong việc cho đăng tin, bài có nội dung sai phạm tương tự như hai cơ quan báo chí nêu trên, trước mắt là các báo Nhà Báo và Công luận, Sài Gòn Tiếp Thị. Người Lao Động, Tuổi Trẻ, Thanh Niên, An Ninh Thủ Đô.
