Dear CACC,

Here is a TGIF poem. I was trying to find something light for the weekend
and found this poem I wrote several years ago. Here for us to to "thu+
gia~n"

Whenever I've got a chance to read one of my poems, I usually do some
fixing. Usually nothing much, maybe just one word, or one comma. Every
time I fix something, I keep the date at the end of the poem. So at the
end of my poem you will always see a bunch of dates. The first date is the
date of the first writing. The following dates are the fixing dates.

Have fun!

Hoanh

BTW: Can you guys send in your poems so I can read too? :-)

Regrets

I regret the days and months we were together

When the sun was bright

    the tamarind trees green

and the bomb explosions the city's routine

When all I want was to hold you tight

and place a slight kiss on your lips

When the world was so huge

that life was closer to death than Saigon to Hanoi

      or you to me

The fear of the unknown

   beyond the first kiss

      was larger than my valor

(though I wasn't at all bothered

    by the nightly exploding rockets)

Those days

   gray monsoons

      red flares

         quiet eyes

             wet hair

Love rolling in thunders in the heart

And I just wanted to kiss you slightly on the lips

Why didn't I?

                                TDH
