IFC-MPDF seeks Legal Consultant - Lao PDR

The Mekong Private Sector Development Facility (MPDF) is a multi-donor 
funded initiative to support the establishment and growth of private small 
and medium enterprises in Lao PDR, Vietnam and Cambodia. MPDF is managed 
by the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the 
World Bank Group. 

Over the past two years, IFC-MPDF has been providing technical assistance 
to the Ministry of Commerce of Lao PDR to develop the new Enterprise Law, 
which was approved by the National Assembly in October 2005 and officially 
promulgated by the President in April 2006. The government has recently 
established a committee under the Ministry of Commerce to prepare 
implementing regulations for the Enterprise Law.  The committee has asked 
IFC-MPDF to provide assistance to review major commercial laws and 
identify areas of inconsistencies between those laws, the new Enterprise 
Law and basic WTO requirements. 

IFC-MPDF seeks a legal consultant to work with our team and the MOC in Lao 
PDR to provide such assistance.
