Dear Brother Quang Anh & CACC,

Thanks for the interesting article about Van Anh. I have been expecting it.
That is why I said " I admire this student." She risks a lot--controversy,
hitting back, mud, dirt thrown on her. But that is the nature of a
struggle. When you make a move, chances are you will be hit back. There is
no way that you may go into the ring without getting hit. That is why
warrior needs courage. Fighting is not the job for people with a weak hard.

And I wouldn't be surprise that there are factions in the school. That is
the nature of reform. We have bad guys and the good guys have to band
together.

But here is the position I think we all must take: The law should not
concern itself with sectarian politics. The law has to operate above
all. When someone violate the law, we should not care about all the
political moves between factions in an organization or a community. That is
for people who manage that organization and that community to worry about.
The law should only worry about whether someone has violated the law or
not. Otherwise we will forever be caught in the trap of a nation of
political quarrels and political abuses, instead of a nation governed by
law.

About extortion, technically that is not "corruption crime." Extortion
usually is the use of threat or someone kind of coercion to force someone
to do something against his will, usually for the extortionist to gain
something. Say, A tells B: "I know that you have a fake degree. If you
don't give me 1000 USD I will tell the entire world about that." (Actually
this is from a real case on the Vietnamese press I read this week).

In this case, Do Tu Dong was clearly telling Van Anh that he was holding
her grade in his hand and if she had sex with him she would have good grade,
implying clearly that "no sex and you will have bad grade." This is an
extortion.

Have a great day, brother Quang Anh & all.

Hoanh
