Academic Year 2004 - 2005


Hanoi University of Technology is a leading engineering
university in Vietnam. We are looking for English-speaking
instructors interested in teaching foundation courses in
Computing Science and Business Administration on our campus
in Hanoi, Vietnam. The courses are to prepare Vietnamese
students for entry into graduate programs in Computing and
Business Administration disciplines of University of Houston
– Clear Lake, Texas, USA and other accredited American
universities. The courses are:

Computing Science					

Programming with Java					
Data and File Structures					
Technical Communication 				
Computer Organization & Assembly Language 		
Design of Database Systems				
Operating Systems					
Software Engineering					


Business Administration

Principles of Economics
Accounting Concepts for Mangers
Business Statistics for Decision Making
Foundations of Marketing Management
Managerial Finance
Human Behavior in Organizations
Fundamentals of Business Programming


Syllabi, textbooks and teaching methods are adopted from
University of Houston – Clear Lake. The language of
instruction is English. Each course will be taught in an
intensive executive style and may last about a month
including the final exam. Classes will be offered both
during the day and in the evening.

Qualifications

Invited lecturers should:

- Be able to teach and communicate fluently in English with
emphasis in strong speaking skills,

- Have earned at least a master’s degree (doctorate
preferred) with a minimum 18 graduate semester hours of
course work in computing science and business administration
or related disciplines,

- Be able to work in Hanoi for 3 to 4 weeks to teach one or
two courses during the time frame from August 2004 to June
2005,

- Have teaching experience.

Ideal candidates are individuals who currently are
professors in a computing or business administration
discipline from an accredited university in an
English-speaking country. The candidates may travel to
Hanoi, Vietnam between 3 to 4 weeks to teach one or two
courses during their semester break or summer.

Compensation

The compensation per course will depend on the courses,
qualifications, and current teaching rank/title. If not
residing in Hanoi, the lecturer must pay his/her expenses on
travel and local accommodations. HUT will assist the
lecturer in locating suitable local hotels and
transportation during the teaching engagement at HUT if
necessary.
