  saw your post about ip locators. interesting dilemma. basically if they both sat the same thing, then they are both likely to be close. although you cannot pin point an exact physical location with an IP, however, in most cases (unless you have someone using a proxy server) the physical location will be within a 30 mile radius. that is p prety large area.

  you can actually walk right up to the local county courthouse and get a subpoena for information and submit it the the ISP and they will gove you the exact  name and registration of the person whose account was being used on that day and time with that IPN. some ISPs will not honor out of state subpoenas, so you have to go to the local court and get one.

  but aside from getting a specific physical location, the best thing is to get a third locator. it is likely that two of the three will have it right, and there is a glitch with the other.

  also, the locators you picked are hosted on a web server. sometimes the location of that server can distort the result. a stand alone pience of software is probably a better idea. there are a few reall good ones, but they cost money.
