"No one can make you feel 'inferior without' your consent"---Eleanor Roosevelt

Sooner or later, we all realize that some people 'fail 'to g ive us the respect we deserve. It can happen to anyone. For some people, showing a l ack of respect is a mean 'of self-affirmation. Rathe r destructive, this approach serves only to create the 'illusion' of con trol and 'superiority. In such instances, it may seem that there is n othing we can say or do to change the way in which this person treats us. They seem to find n othing to..like about us. And often, they continue to show thei r disrespect'
to the point of 'making us ang ry. On the other hand, other people can show a l ack of respect, realize it and 'apologize for their behavior. Very early in any discussion, we realize what type of person we are dealing with. In both instances, confrontation is use'less. We should simply draw the person's attention to his/her 'transgression' or 'end 'the discussion.
Today, I 'demand respect. If people show a l ack of respect, I 'try
to rectify the situation. If there is n o change, I keep a way from these to xic relationships.
