[Vacets] Call for Candidacy - Election 2003

Dear Members,

This is the time to start the election process for our the 2003-2004 
Executive Committee. All the members of the Boards
except the President and the President-Elect will have to stand for 
election. The Bylaws appoints me as the Chair of the Election Committee and 
precludes me from standing for election to provide impartiality.  I would 
like to thank anh Lap for having gracefully agree to serve in the Election 
Committee. I send out this Call for Candidacy ahead of the schedule as per 
request of our president, anh Hung Nguyen.

I would like to invite all of you, especially current Board and Adcom 
members to participate as candidates for this election. Your commitment and 
contribution will make the difference in our organization. I will also look 
forward for a chance to dialogue with all candidates on the Q&A forum.

		ELECTION SCHEDULE

  	     May 15, 2003: call for candidates - note that this date is moved 
forward by two weeks

                May 31: close of call for candidates

                May 24: preliminary list of voters

                May 31: final list of voters

                June 2 - June 9: Q&A with candidates

                June 10 - 13: summary by candidates

                June 16 - 20: voting

                June 28: results published

We will vote for up to 5 candidates. The candidate with the most votes will 
be the President-elect in the new term of
office.
