I've been taking this leadership series. It's very good. The principles can
be applied to many diffferent organization types. For example of a
presentation, attached is an abstract about "Servant Leadership" that I
really like.

Subject: Take on the Leadership Challenge with "Preparing to Lead" - Pls.
Forward
Hello Thomas -
Leadership experts agree upon a common issue: one of the scarcest resources
is leadership talent capable of preparing organizations to succeed in
tomorrow's world. More and more companies are acknowledging the need for
developing and nurturing leaders who can conceive a visible future and lead
their organization to competitive advantage in a world of rapid change.
To this end, the University of St. Thomas Center for Business Excellence
presents "Preparing to Lead," a 10-session program designed to help leaders
develop the capacity to take on the leadership challenge.
Topics Include:
* Strategy, Culture, and Leadership
* Persuasion and Influence
* The Leader's Role in Developing a High Performance Work Environment
* Transformational Coaching
* Creativity and Innovation
* Think on Your Feet with Stevie Ray(C)
* The Leadership Journey
Our fall offering of "Preparing to Lead" begins September 20, 2005. For more
information and to register, contact the Center for Business Excellence at

After 35 years of relative obscurity, servant leadership is popping up in
locations as diverse as a sheriff's department in Texas, NBC's Dateline, and
Minnesota corporations. For over a decade, servant leadership has been a key
component of leadership development at the University of St. Thomas. Join us
to learn about the importance of servant leadership, its origins in one of
the 20th century's largest corporations, and the core skills and capacities
of servant leaders.
Presenter:
Don M. Frick is author of "Robert K. Greenleaf: A Life of Servant
Leadership," the authorized biography of the man who first defined servant
leadership and wrote of its implications. Don is a frequent speaker,
workshop presenter, and consultant on issues related to servant leadership.
